Here's what we have to say.
KOPERNIK LINK SUMMER SCIENCE EXPLORATIONS
"I visted Kopernik for the first time the summer of 2006, and had an amazing time. The camp was more than just a science program. We got to stay on the beautiful campus of Binghamton University, got to spend more than 30 hours at a real, functioning observatory, and met great people from all over the country. We got to hang out and play with friends during the day, and then come sunset, we'd hit the telescopes and use the opportunity to learn from real professional equipment, not images online. The experience I had, and the friends I made, are invaluable."
-Brett Morris (Sophomore)
"I have attended several camps before, one of them residential, but the Kopernik talent search program I attended [the summer of 2006] was the best experience I have ever had... Not only does the program offer an excellent experience for the students who go there, but it also offers something special. The program draws a certain type of student I have never met before. Everyone was genuinely interested and worked really hard. I was amazed by the way the other campers thought. It was normal to talk about philosophy of physics before bead, and everyone really enjoyed it... It really felt, not like a classroom, but like an observatory. I think when you have that kind of environment, people learn better, work harder, and leave feeling very fufilled by what they have done. I think Kopernik was probably the best experience I have ever had. It revitalized old interests as well as encouraging new ones. I really look forward to next year!"
-Peter Heuer (Sophomore)
"My son Peter attended the Link program for 2 weeks this past summer and had a wonderful experience. Kopernik offers unique programs that provides an opportunity for talented, scientifically-minded young people to spend time together in a challenging yet fun academic environment."
-William Heuer (Parent)
"Kopernik has been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. I attended my first program in 4th grade- a short, day-long "Talent Search" program. As I grew older, I attended at least one program each summer up to last year on robitcs, weather, digital photography, and of course, space travel and exploration. I can sincerely say that Kopernik has been on of the biggest influences in my life. Meeting with other kids with similar interests, especially being home-schooled through 7, really moticated me to become excited with my math, science, and space. I believe Kopernik had much to do with my developing a strong passion for Computer Science and Astronomy."
